PERU, Indiana - The Marian College men's golf team earned a fifth-place finish
at the 2009 Mid-Central College Conference Tournament at Rock Hollow Golf Course
in Peru, Indiana on Tuesday.
The Knights sat in third place after day one when they shot a 627 through
36 holes. The Knights struggled on day two after they shot a 323 for a 54-hole
total of 950.
Freshman
Sean Jones (Indianapolis/North Central) earned
All-Conference honors after he finished in third place with a 229 (79-74-76)
during the 54 holes.
Senior
Jacob Murray (Logansport, Indiana/Logansport) also
earned All-Conference honors after he finished in fifth place with a 231
(73-76-82). Murray struggled in the final round, which was a chilly, wet day at
the course.
Junior
Luke Weber (North Vernon, Indiana/Jennings County)
finished in a tie for 22nd place after he carded a 54-hole total of 244
(81-80-83). Freshman
Brandin Newton (Crawfordsville,
Indiana/Crawfordsville) finished in 31st place after he carded a 248
(83-83-82).
Senior
Evan Brown (New Albany, Indiana/New Albany)
finishes the tournament in 34th place with a 250 (86-81-83).
Huntington won the title while Indiana Wesleyan University finished in
second place and Bethel College rounded out the top three.
