FORT WAYNE, Ind. - The Marian men's golf team finished second at the Crossroads League Championships Tuesday in Fort Wayne, Indiana. Taylor claimed first place, while Marian was runner-up for the majority of the two-day tournament.

The Knights shot a 298+300+288=886, which was 19 strokes behind Taylor. Marian's 288 Tuesday was the low score for any of the nine teams. Dylan Gessinger paced the Knights with a 219, which was fourth overall. Cory Cahalan and Joe Leja tied for fifth with a 220. Leja got stronger as the tournament went on, shooting rounds of +6, +2, -1. Ben Resler saved his best round for last with a +2 to close the tournament with a 230. Travis Sterrett shot a 236 to round out the Knights.

Gessinger, Cahalan and Sterrett were named to the All-Crossroads League Team as voted by coaches. The Knights defeated Indiana Wesleyan by 11 strokes, while Spring Arbor came in fourth and St. Francis finished fifth.
