Upland, Ind. - The Marian women's track and field team competed in the Crossroads League Championships Friday, hosted by Taylor University. The Knights finished the opening day in third place, earning 55 points. Marian trails leader Taylor University by 12.5 points, and second place Indiana Wesleyan by six and a half points. 

Marian picked up one individual win in the opening events, as Brittany Sharp won the 10,000 meter race with a time of 39:03.79. Sarah Wieser also scored points for the Knights, finishing eighth with a time of 40:38.21. 

The Knights continued their on track success in the 4x800 relay, as the team of Olivia Koehl, Anna Dudley, Kiersten Schrope, and Rachel Dever finished second with a time of 9:45.83. 

In the field events, Marian picked up two second place finishes, as the ladies scored 28 points from their field results. Mieke Paulick finished second in the high jump, as she cleared 1.53 meters. Miranda Schutte also scored in the high jump, placing seventh with a jump of 1.45 meters. 

Sarah Corbin placed second in the discuss throw, with her longest toss going 40.36 meters. 

Marian had three athletes place in the long jump, with Kyndall Herring finishing fourth with a leap of 5.31 meters. Tamia Mills and Amelia Robben finished sixth and seventh, with jumps of 4.95 and 4.91 meters, respectively. 

Robben and Mills aided the Marian effort once again, this time in  the triple jump, as the duo finished fourth and sixth, respectively. Robben jumped 10.68 meters, while Mills jumped 9.86 meters.
