UPLAND, Ind. - The Marian women's track and field team piled up the points Saturday and won the Crossroads League Championships in Upland, Indiana, at Taylor University. The Knights entered day two in third place, but came from behind to take the conference title. 

Lateefah Birks finished first in the 100 meters with a time of 12.47 seconds, while Kyndal Herring finished fifth in 12.82 seconds. Birks was back again in the 200, crossing the line first in 25.48 seconds. Herring finished fourth and Raven Gibson finished seventh. In the 400 meters, Gibson placed third and Olivia Koehl finished sixth. Marian placed two in the top eight of the 800 as Kiersten Schrope finished fifth in 2:23.49, while Koehl took seventh. Schrope later broke the school record in the 3,000 meter steeplechase. Rachel Dever and Brittany Sharp finished fourth and sixth, respectively, in the 5,000 meters.

Mieke Paulick finished second in the 100 meter hurdles with a time of 15.83 seconds, while Tamia Mills crossed the line fifth. Kylee KasperHope Spaulding and Maddie Kurcz finished third, fourth and seventh, respectively, in the 400 meter hurdles as the three continued to show well in the event. 

Marian's 4x100 meter relay team of Birks, Natalia Font, Mills and Herring finished first in 47.94, while the 4x400 meter relay team of Birks, Koehl, Schrope and Gibson finished second in 4:00.09. In the javelin, Karen Jones won by a large margin, recording a final mark of 40.17 meters, which was a new school record. Britta Beyer finished fifth in the hammer throw with a mark of 42.96 meters.
