Gulf Shores, Ala. - Tomorrow the Marian men's and women's track team begin competing in the NAIA Track National Championships. The Knights are participating in four events tomorrow, with the each team running two races.

The first event of the afternoon is the women's 4x100 meter relay prelims, beginning at 2:30 p.m. CT. The relay team will include Tamia Mills, Raven Gibson, Kyndal Herring, and Lateefah Birks. The relay team enters the event as the 16th seeded team.

Following the conclusion of the women's 4x100 relay, the men's 4x100 prelims will begin. Marian will send DeVohn Jackson, Moussa Conde, Marcellion Gardner, and Sogo Akinyosoye to the starting line. The boys relay team is the fifth seeded team entering the race.

At approximately 5:05 p.m., Conde will return to the track to run the 200 meter dash. Conde is tied for the school record in the 200, and will look to qualify for Saturday's finals Thursday afternoon. His record time of 21.29 seconds earned him the 14th seed entering the prelims.

Thursday will conclude with Brittany Sharp running in the women's 10,000 meter run. Sharp enters the race as the 17th seed. Unlike the other events, Sharp's race is the first final of the National Championships.

In order to qualify for the NAIA Finals on Saturday, the team or individual must qualify in the trials on Thursday or Friday. Qualifying for the finals makes the runners All-Americans, as they will be in the final eight runners.
