Gulf Shores, Ala. - The Marian Knights women's track team got their first taste of National Competition, competing in two races Thursday. Marian's 4x100 relay opened the day, while Brittany Sharp ran the 10,000 finals.

RESULTS | COACH HOLMAN BREAKDOWN

The 4x100 relay team of Tamia Mills, Lateefah Birks, Raven Gibson, and Kyndal Herring completed their best time of the 2017 season, finishing fifth in the second heat of the day. The ladies ran a 47.90 second race, which was their season best. The team finished 13th overall, finishing the best of the two Crossroads League teams in the race, as Indiana Wesleyan took 15th. 

Brittany Sharp finished the evening in the 10,000 meter race, finishing the 25-lap run in 40:10.98. Sharp was the 18th runner to finish the race, making her one of the country's top-20 10km runners.

Tomorrow features the final race for the Marian ladies. The Knights will compete in the 4x400 relay tomorrow night, looking to clinch a spot in the finals.
