KANSAS CITY - A pair of Marian pitchers have earned NAIA softball All-America honors as Breena Smith was named to the first team and Grace Lumpkin was named a honorable mention. It is the first All-America honor for both student-athletes.

Smith was named Crossroads League Pitcher of the Year and earned All-Crossroads League Team honors after finishing 27-2 with 27-straight wins to start the season. She was dominant all season, and held an ERA of 0.96, while throwing 14 complete games with seven shutouts. Smith pitched 168 innings and allowed 99 hits, 23 earned runs and 28 walks, while striking out 171. Opponents hit just .168 off her. Smith highlighted the national rankings, finishing sixth in the nation in wins, opponent batting average and hits allowed per game. She also ranked seventh in the country in ERA and in the top 50 in innings pitched, total runs allowed, and walks allowed per nine innings.

Lumpkin was also named to the All-Crossroads League Team after appearing in 25 games and starting 21 in the circle. She ranked in the top 50 in the country in ERA (13th), total earned runs allowed (22nd) and wins (42nd). Lumpkin was dominant as well, finishing 18-2 with a 1.12 earned run average. She pitched 11 complete games and tossed five shutouts, while throwing 125.1 innings and allowing 106 hits and 20 earned runs. Lumpkin struck out 49 batters and walked 19, while allowing just eight extra base hits.
