INDIANAPOLIS - The Marian men's cross country and track and field teams have added a pair of runners as announced by head coach Mike Holman Thursday morning. The Knights added a transfer in Marcus Fierek, while also adding Luke Schroering to the 2021 class.

Fierek comes to Marian from St. Joseph's College and is a graduate of Brownsburg High School. While at BHS, Fierek recorded the most miles on the team two different seasons and was named Most Improved and a team captain during the 2015-16 season. He also holds the sixth-fastest time in Brownsburg cross country history. In track and field, Fierek was a mile county champion and holds the school record in the 4x800 meter relay.

He is the son of Katie Fierek and plans to major in business marketing.

Schroering will come to Marian from Our Lady of Providence High School in Greenville, Indiana, and is a mid-distance runner. Schroering will run both cross country and track and field and was an all-sectional and all-regional performer in high school.
