Juan Dolio, Dominican Republic - Wednesday is completed and the Knights have further felt the impact of the Dominican Republic. Today the team woke up early and headed back to the Freedom Christian School for a second day of ministry work, as well as another volleyball match against a local Dominican Club.

Today's ministry work with the Freedom Christian School was very similar to yesterday, with the girls spending the day with the same Pre-kindergarten three year old class. Today was slightly different, however, as nearly every girl on the team was assigned to go station to station with two kids as opposed to being with only one child the day before. Contrary to belief, the Marian girls actually put the children from the school to sleep, instead of the other way around, with more than a handful showing weary eyes. The group rotated through different stations as they did the day before, doing a variety of activities with the kids.

While a majority of the team worked with the classroom, both Coach Ashlee Pritchard and Justin Kean, as well as seniors Julie Hoying, AlyxaKay Shields, and Frannie Stephenson, spent the day painting in a new residential building on the grounds of the school. The apartment style building is set to open later this fall, providing more space for the mission groups and interns that stay on site. The five powered through the morning, applying the first coat of paint to the was in the upstairs bedroom.

After completing their service work, the team returned back to base camp at the Score International headquarters. Taking an hour break to lunch and wash up, the team headed into Santo Domingo, gearing up for their second match of the week. Unfortunately, their was a mix-up in the scheduling, so after finishing a brief warm-up the team headed back to Score for dinner.

The Knights still had a game scheduled, this time traveling east late in the day to San Pedro de Macrois for a matchup against another local Dominican club. The Knights proved to be more in sync tonight than yesterday, dominating the first two sets, taking both of them 25-16. The third set saw some mechanics come apart, but Marian fought through and took the set 25-20. Once agian, everyone played and rotated throughout the match, allowing everyone the opportunity to shine in front of the small crowd that was in the building.

For the third straight day, the team will have the same schedule by working at Freedom Christian in the morning and playing in the afternoon. Tomorrow will have a twist, with the girls now working with the Pre-kindergarten four year old class.
