Huntington, Ind. - The men's tennis team played late into the night Wednesday, picking up a marathon 5-4 win over Huntington. Marian rallied from down 3-1 to come back and take the match. The late night heroics provide Marian with their first team win of the season, giving them a 1-0 record overall and in Crossroads League play.

Marian got their first win of the evening at No. 1 doubles, with Nathan Bogle and Ian Deiters continuing their hot streak. After winning the Marian Doubles Tournament last weekend, the pair knocked off Huntington's Ignacio Poncio and Mariano Echevarria 8-6. That would be Marian's only doubles win of the night, as Huntington went on to pick up wins in the two and three pairings. Noah Roberts and Alex Wittenbaum lost an extremely tight match at No. 2 9-8 (1), while Max Ismoilov and Nicholas Marroquin fell 8-5.

Trailing 2-1 entering singles, matters only got worse as the deficit went 3-1 Huntington after the first round. The Foresters Brady Worl defeated Turner Lesnick at No. 6 singles 6-4, 6-1. The team stayed strong despite trailing, starting with Nathan Bogle at No. 1 singles. Bogle defeated Poncio 3-6, 6-3, 7-6 (3). Roberts won at No. 3 singles 7-5, 6-1, while Wittenbaum gave the Knights their fourth win of the day taking No. 4 singles 6-7 (3), 6-3, 6-2. Huntington's Rodrigo Manzo knocked off Deiters in his singles round 6-3, 6-4, evening the score at four each.

The match came down to No. 5 singles, where Nick Marroquin was in a battle with Jacob Shelton. After dropping the first set 6-7 (6), Marroquin rallied to win the second set 7-5. Showing a never give up attitude no matter how late, Marroquin pulled off the 6-1 win in the third to clinch the match for the Knights.
