INDIANAPOLIS - The Marian men's soccer team allowed an early goal to Midway and was unable to overcome it, losing 1-0 Saturday night on St. Vincent Field. The loss makes Marian 1-3 on the season.

It took Midway's Max Bristow less than 10 minutes to score as the forward received a nice lob pass 40 yards out and beat the Marian defense to make it 1-0 Eagles. The lead would hold for the remainder of the half despite eight shots from the hosts.

In the second half, Marian dominated possession and held the ball on the offensive half of the field for much of the 45 minutes. However, the Knights were unable to generate any chances and came away empty. Marian did not attempt a shot in the half.

The Knights finished with an 8-6 advantage in shots and a 5-2 edge in corner kicks. Sidney Miranda made two saves in the net for Marian.

Marian will be back in action Sept. 12 at No. 19 Campbellsville. Your online source for Marian Athletics, tickets, multimedia, Knight merchandise, photos and more.
