TERRE HAUTE, Ind. - The Marian men's cross country team picked up a third place finish out of four teams at the John McNichols Invitational Saturday afternoon in Terre Haute, Indiana. The Knights were competing against Rose Hulman, St. Mary (Kan.) and McKendree.

Rose Hulman's 26 points won the meet, while St. Mary was close behind with 30. Marian tallied 80 points and McKendree had 110. The Knights' top five finishers had an average time of 28:10.

Matt Wielgus had the lone top 10 finish for the Knights, finishing 10th in 27:35. Conor Smith was right behind in 12th place with a time of 27:36, while Scott Prewitt and Michael Conte were also in the top 20 at 17th and 20th, respectively. Marcus Fierek and Daniel Santos finished back-to-back in 21st and 22nd place with times of 28:53 and 29:00, respectively. Marian's final finisher, Aaron Kazmierski, finished 25th in 29:24.

The Knights will host the Marian XC Invitational Friday at Northview Church in Carmel, Indiana.
