CARMEL, Ind. - Friday afternoon the host Marian took fifth place in the Marian Cross Country Invitational men's race. The Knights finished in the middle of the pack between eight Crossroads League foes. The race took place at Northview Church in Carmel, Ind.

Taylor University won the men's race with 26 points, placing all five runner's in the top 10, including three in the top five. Indiana Wesleyan came in second with 42 points, while Goshen and Grace College took third and fourth. Marian scored 140 points, besting Huntington by four. 

Michael Conte was the lone runner for the hosts to place in the top 10, finishing 10th in 27:58.24. Conor Smith finished 21st in 28:33.41, and Marcus Fierek was 25th after running the race in 28:49.79. Daniel Sotos III placed 41st with a time of 29:52.05, and Matt Wielgus rounded out the Marian runners finishing 43rd in 30:02.89.
