MARION, Ind. - The Marian women's tennis team competed at ITA Regionals in Marion, Indiana, this weekend and the Knights came away with several quality results in both singles and doubles.

In singles play, Maria Angela Sunga won her first match 6-1, 6-0 before falling 7-6 (8-6), 6-2 in the second round. Anne Taylor also advanced to the second round after winning 0-6, 6-3, 10-6 in the first. However, she fell to teammate Elise Betscher in the second round 6-2, 6-1. Betscher had won 7-5, 6-3 in the first round, but lost in the third round.

Maria Lueken found her way to the third round as well with wins of 6-1, 6-0 in the first and 6-1, 6-1 in the second. She fell in three sets in the third round. Because all three Knights made it to the third round, neither moved to the consolation round.

In doubles play, Taylor and Lueken teamed up to win their opening match 8-3, but fell in the second round 8-4. Betscher and Sunga also won a match in doubles, 9-7, but lost 8-3 in the second round.
