Avon, Ohio - Marian women's soccer's goalkeeper Brenna Malatestinic was named the Crossroads League Defensive Player of the Week, as announced by the conference Monday afternoon.

Malatestinic played 150 minutes in the net for Marian last week as the Knights picked up two big wins. She allowed just one goal and made four saves in a 2-1 win over (RV) Siena Heights. She then came up big for the Knights last Friday, preserving a shutout win over NCAA Division 1 Eastern Illinois. Coming in late in the first half in injury relief, Malatestinic made four saves in 60 minutes and shutout the Panthers, securing the fourth-straight win for MU.

Marian will be at home this Wednesday, as the Knights host the University of Rio Grande at 7:00 p.m. Your online source for Marian Athletics, tickets, multimedia, Knight merchandise, photos and more.
