Greencastle, Ind. - After picking up a Crossroads League win against Mt. Vernon on Tuesday, the Marian men's tennis team returned to the courts Wednesday to take on DePauw. Coming from behind to win, the Knights earned their sixth win of the year as they defeated the Tigers 5-4. Marian is now 6-1 overall this season.

The Knights got off to a slow start in the match Wednesday as they fell behind 0-1 after Nathan Bogle and Ian Deiters dropped their match at No. 1 8-4. Coming back strong, Marian closed doubles play with two wins to give them a 2-1 lead entering singles. Noah Roberts and Alex Wittenbaum won at No. 2 doubles 8-4, and Turner Lesnick and Nicholas Marroquin took No. 3 doubles 8-5. 

Turning to singles play, Marian got a quick win from Roberts at No. 3 singles, taking his match 6-4, 0-1 (retired). Depauw then picked up three straight wins to put them in front 4-3. Lesnick was bested by Michael Kolbus 6-4, 6-2 at No. 6 singles, and Bogle dropped his match to Greg Frauenheim 6-1, 7-5. Wittenbaum also fell to the Tigers, as he was tied at one set each with Tiaga Tamura before retiring from the match. Wittenbaum's scores were 4-6, 7-5, 2-1 (retired). 

The Knights put their rally caps on, relying on Deiters and Marroquin to give the Knights the win. Deiters finished first, picking up the win over Bryce McClanahan 7-5, 3-6, 6-4 to even the score at 4-4. Coming through in the clutch for the road team, Marroquin rallied from an 0-1 deficit against Daniel Kinas to win his match 3-6, 6-3, 6-4, sealing the win for Marian.
