INDIANAPOLIS - On Saturday evening, St. Vincent Field will play host to the annual Franciscan Bowl as the ninth-ranked Marian football team will host No. 1 St. Francis.

Last season, the No. 1 Knights defeated second-ranked St. Francis 35-21 and went on to win the MSFA Mideast. However, the Cougars went on to win the national championship and entered the 2017 season number one. This season, St. Francis is 4-0 and has won by at least 25 points in all four games. Marian is 2-1 and has won it's last two games by 40 points combined.

Marian and St. Francis have played 12 times in the series history and each team has won six games. The last two matchups have been in Fort Wayne and Marian has won both, including a 2015 matchup in which Marian won 45-14. The last time the two teams played in Indianapolis was October 2015 and St. Francis handed MU 45-42 loss. The two teams are 3-3 all-time in games played at St. Vincent Field.
