Men's Cross Country - Sat, Sep. 30, 2017

Louisville, Ky. - Saturday morning the men's cross country team competed in their third race of the season, running at the Greater Louisville Cross Country Classic. The men turned in their best time of the season Saturday, running a total team time of 2:13:55.42. The average finish was 26:47.09.


Marian competed against nine other teams in the small division of the "Blue Race," coming finishing in tenth place, running against six other NAIA programs.

Lucas Sullivan was the top finisher for Marian, as he placed 12th in his first meet of the season, running a 25:46.15. Conor Smith was the next top finisher for the Knights, running a 26:26.05 to come in 26th. Rounding out the top 50 was Michael Conte, who finished 50th overall in a time of 27:04.80.

Marcus Fierek placed 60th in a time of 27:18.60, and crossing the line two spots behind him was his teammate Matt Wielgus, earning the 62 spot in a time of 27:19.82.

Notable competition at the meet was Crossroads League opponent Taylor University, who completed the race just over two seconds ahead of the Knights.
