Louisville, Ky. - The Knights women's cross country team placed seventh out of 11 NCAA Division 3 and NAIA schools on Saturday at the Greater Louisville Cross Country Classic. Among the three Crossroads League teams in attendance, Marian finished second. The team ran the best time of the season in 1:38:10.02, with an average time finish of 19:38.01.


Taylor University was the top Crossroads League finisher, besting Marian's overall time by four seconds. Marian finished just ahead of Indiana Wesleyan, who took eighth overall and finished .19 seconds overall behind the Knights.

The top finisher for Marian was Brittany Sharp, who turned in a time of 19:10.17. Sharp finished the race 22nd overall. Camryn Butz came in 33rd, running a time of 19:28.71. Kiersten Schrope came in 38th with a time of 19:35.60, rounding out Marian runners in the top 40. Rachel Dever finished moments behind Schrope.

Kat Dombroski finished fourth on the team for Marian and 44th overall, as she crossed the finish line in 19:43.47. Sarah Weiser was the fifth finisher for Marian, crossing the line 20:12.07 to earn an overall finish of 61. Morgan Hayse finished the 5K in 20:12.62 and Hannah Dawson completed the race in 20:14.54. Hayse finished 64th and Dawson 66th.
