AVON, Ohio - The Marian women's basketball team has been selected to win the Crossroads League as announced by the conference Tuesday morning. The Knights have won the conference the past two seasons.

Two-time defending NAIA National Champion, Marian, was selected as the preseason favorite to win a third-straight Crossroads League Championship. The Knights were followed in the poll by St. Francis, Taylor, Indiana Wesleyan and Grace in the top-five. The Knights and USF represented the Crossroads League in the NAIA National Championship Tournament one year ago, with the Knights giving the league its fourth national title in the past five years.

Kellie Kirkhoff was selected by the league coaches as the Crossroads League Preseason Player of the Year. Kirkoff was named an NAIA Third-Team All-American last season, after netting 13.4 points, 2.9 assists and 2.0 steals per game for the Knights. Joana Soeiro was also named to the First Team, while Dejah Cyrus was picked on the Second Team and Candace Danz was named an honorable mention.

The Knights open the 2017-18 season in an exhibition at Vanderbilt Oct. 29. Tickets for all home games can be purchased here. Your online source for Marian Athletics, tickets, multimedia, Knight merchandise, photos and more.
