INDIANAPOLIS - The indoor track season began Friday for the Marian women's track and field team as the Knights competed at the UIndy Winter Break Meet. Marian had several top three finishes to kick off the new season.

In the running events, Chelsea Simmons made her debut in the 60 meters and took second with a time of 7.99, which was 0.06 from first place. Kyndal Herring took third in the 200 meters in 26.87 seconds, while Raven Gibson finished seventh. Marian had multiple runners in the top 10 in the 600 meters as Olivia Koehl took second and Monica Dudley finished fifth. 

Katherine Dombroski finished second in the 800 meters in her Marian debut with a time of 2:31.79 and Jenna Hedlund and Isabel Vazquez finished fourth and sixth, respectively. The 3,000 meters was dominated by Marian as the Knights took the top three spots. Rachel Dever finished first in 11:15.49, Brittany Sharp finished second and Alison Hering took third. 

Tamia Mills finished second in the 60 meters hurdles with a time of 9.40 seconds, but she set the school record earlier in the day with a time of 9.36 seconds. Miranda Schutte finished sixth. Gibson, Herring, Koehl and Simmons teamed up to place first in the 4x400 meter relay with a time of 4:20.44, while Hering, Dudley, Hedlund and Kylee Kasper took second. Herring cleared 5.20 meters in the long jump to take second, while Mills took fourth with a leap of 5.11 meters.

In the triple jump, Amelia Robben finished third with a mark of 10.05 meters. Katie Prendergast finished ninth in the shot put with a throw of 10.70 meters and then finished 13th in the weight throw.
