MIAMI - The Marian men's basketball team snapped a four-game losing streak Monday night with an 88-56 blowout win over Johnson & Wales in Miami, Florida. It was the first of two games in Florida for the Knights and Marian advances to 9-5 with the win.

The Knights' Reginald Kissoonlal made his season debut and was one of five players in double figures for Marian as the Knights jumped on Johnson & Wales early and never looked back. Kissoonlal threw down a dunk to open the scoring and Marian got out to an eight point lead by the first media timeout. Curtis Green buried a three with eight seconds left in the half and Marian took a 23-point lead to the locker room.

In the second half, the Knights never wavered as Johnson & Wales never came closer than the 23 point deficit that Marian had at halftime. Marian was able to maintain the lead with stingy defense that held the Wildcats to just 8-of-29 shooting for the half and the Knights led by as much as 35 in the game.

Mark Albers led the way with 18 points on 6-of-10 shooting off the bench, while also grabbing eight rebounds. The backcourt duo of Wes Stowers and Sterling Brown was productive as always with Brown scoring 12 points and adding four rebounds and six assists, while Stowers had 12 points, four rebounds, four assists and three steals. Kissoonlal nearly had a double-double in his debut with 11 points and nine rebounds and Christian Stewart had 10 points.

Marian shot 49 percent from the field and outrebounded Johnson & Wales 46-32. The Knights forced 15 turnovers and committed 11.

The Knights are back in action Wednesday at Ave Maria. Tipoff is set for 2 p.m. Your online source for Marian Athletics, tickets, multimedia, Knight merchandise, photos and more.
