HUNTINGTON, Ind. - The Marian men's basketball team continued its winning ways Saturday, defeating Huntington 69-56 at Platt Arena in Huntington, Indiana. The win makes Marian 14-6 overall and 4-4 in the Crossroads League. It is the Knights' third-straight win.

Huntington opened the game on fire from the field and led 13-4 before some fans had a chance to find their seat. The big run prompted a Marian timeout and the Knights recovered nicely after the stoppage. Marian answered with a 12-3 run of its own to tie the game at 16. Reginald Kissoonlal scored six points during the run and Samuel Guymon hit a turnaround hook to even the score.

Marian was able to take the lead and push it to as much as five on a 3-pointer from Mark Albers with 3:44 to play in the half and the Knights took a three point lead to the locker room. Foul trouble became a bit of an issue for the Knights as Kissoonlal, Sterling Brown and Andrew Jordan each picked up two in the first half.

Marian opened the second half with three buckets from three different players and extended the lead to eight and it became a dunk party for the Knights after that. Jordan threw down a one-handed dunk so hard on a fast break that he fell down on the landing. Kissoonlal followed with a putback slam and one possession later slammed one home with two hands. With the rim rocking, Marian pushed its lead to 13 midway through the half.

The Knights never looked back after the run and cruised the rest of the way to a 13-point victory for their third-straight in Crossroads League play. Kissoonlal was solid again for the Knights, posting a double-double of 19 points and 13 rebounds, while Wes Stowers added 16 points and eight rebounds. Brown finished in double figures as well with 10 points and Jordan had seven points and nine rebounds.

Marian shot a higher percentage than Huntington from the field and 3-point and dominated the glass, 53-35. 18 of Marian's rebounds were on the offensive end, while the Knights only allowed six offensive rebounds from Huntington. Marian's bench outscored Huntington's 15-3.

The Knights will take their winning streak on the road to Mount Vernon Nazarene Tuesday night. Tip off is scheduled for 7 p.m. Your online source for Marian Athletics, tickets, multimedia, Knight merchandise, photos and more.
