The Marian University Cycling Team holds their lead in the season-long Omnium standings for Division I Varisty cycling teams, going into the final two National Championship competitions of the collegiate cycling season.
After a first place finish at both track nationals (September - Indianapolis) and cyclocross nationals (January - Reno), and a third place finish at mountain bike nationals (October - Missoula), the Knights have accrued 279 team points. Holding second place is Fort Lewis College (Durango, Colorado - 252 points) with Colorado Mesa University in third at 248 points.
Two more points opportunities remain - Collegiate BMX Nationals in March in Monroe, LA and Road Nationals in Grand Junction, CO in May. The Knights will look for strong team performances at both, both to defend their discipline national titles and maintain their omnium lead. The team has won the Omnium for the last five straight seasons.
