Brunswick, Ga. - The Marian men's tennis team lost their fourth straight match on Monday afternoon, as the Knights suffered a 7-2 loss to No. 15 College of Coastal Georgia. Marian was swept in doubles play, but was able to salvage two wins in the match in singles play. The Knights record drops to 10-6 overall this season.

The Knights got off to a slow start in the match against the College of Coastal Georgia on Monday, as they went 0-3 in doubles play. No. 1 doubles team Nathan Bogle and Ian Deiters lost the first match of the day, as they went down 8-4. The Mariners won again at No. 2 doubles as Alex Wittenbaum and Camilo Mesa were taken down 8-2. Rounding out doubles play, Max Ismoilov and Nicholas Marroquin were defeated No. 3 8-4. 

As the match turned to singles play, the Mariners completed the first two matches of singles play to clinch the win. Bogle lost at No. 1 singles 6-0, 6-1 and Marroquin lost at No. 5 singles as he was shutout 6-0, 6-0. Wittenbaum scored Marian's first point of the match as he was victorious at No. 4 singles, winning on retirement 6-4, 1-0. Ismoilov was the next Knight to fall at the hands of the Mariners, as Coastal Georgia took a 6-1 match lead after Ismoilov lost No. 6 singles 6-1, 6-2. Mesa scored the final win for Marian at No. 2 singles 6-1, 6-0. Deiters closed the match with a heartbreaking loss, as he went down at No. 3 singles in three sets 7-6, 3-6, 2-10.
