HUNTINGTON, Ind. -- The Marian College women's
cross country team came home with its first trophy of the season after
it earned the small school championship at the Evansville Invitational
on Saturday.
"This was a great day for running," said head coach David Roberts.
"These girls came out and ran with determination and I am glad to see
each of them posting season bests. It was a great day for Marian
College."
Junior
Julia Konopasek paced the Knights with a 35th place finish. The
XX, Ind., native finished with a season-best time of 19:52.62. Junior
Erica Baechle finished in 39th place with a time of 20:05.06 while
junior Jessica VanVleet finished in a time of 20:14.25, which was good
enough for 47th place.

Molly Till finished in 52nd place with a time of 20:27.34 while
sophomore
Sarah Fowler finished right behind her in 53rd with a time
of 20:28.37. Junior Latisha Yeager finished in 60th place with a time
of 20:46.71 while freshman
Jill Kuntz finished in 70th with a time of
21:23.17. Senior
Regina Rust finished in 79th place with a time of
21:47.94 while sophomore
Amanda Frey finished in 88th place with a
time of 22:54.86.
The Knights get back on the 5K course when they head to the MCC
Conference meet next Saturday in Marion, Ind.
