  • Head coach Gary Yohe is entering his fourth season at the helm of the MU women's soccer program after being named the second head coach in the program's history on Dec. 30, 2013.
  • Yohe has had the Knights knocking on the door for the program's first NAIA Tournament appearance the past two seasons. The Knights have finished in the top three of the Crossroads League standings before losing in the Crossroads League Tournament final both years to eventual national champion Spring Arbor.

  • In his rookie season, Yohe led the Knights to a 9-7-1 record and a 5-4 mark in the Crossroads League. He inherited a program that went 10-23-2 and failed to qualify for the Crossroads League Tournament in each of the two previous seasons.

  • He led the Knights to a berth in the league tournament in his rookie season and created a spring season with five scrimmage matches during the spring.

  • His first season yielded the tournament berth, 11 Daktronics-NAIA Scholar Athlete awards, a Capital One Academic All-District selection and two All-Crossroads League performers: Olivia Annee and Kelsey Pauley.

  • Yohe holds a USSF National "B" License, a NSCAA Advanced National Diploma and a NSCAA National Goalkeeper Diploma.

  • Prior to MU, he spent five seasons at Brebeuf Jesuit Preparatory School where he amassed a 58-25-21 record, including a 12-5-3 season in 2013. He guided the Braves to four sectional championships, one regional title, three regional final appearances and two Marion County championships. During his time at BJPS, he was named county coach of the year twice and was a three-time district coach of the year award winner. He coached eight players that went on to compete at the collegiate level and worked with a trio of United States Women's National Team Pool players.

  • In 2012-13, he helped guide the Carmel United Soccer Club-Under 12 team to a state championship and the CUSC-Under 17 team to a third-place finish at the state championships and a 22nd-place finish in the region. He currently serves as CUSC U-13 and U-18 coach with the same ladies.

  • He also spent the last five years training goalkeepers with his Indiana Goalkeeper Academy. His goalkeepers have ended up competing at colleges such as the University of Tennessee, Samford University, Belmont University, Butler University and Princeton University. He also trained the goalkeeper who recently signed with the Indy Eleven, the new professional soccer team in Indianapolis. Over the last eight months, Yohe has also served as goalkeeper coach with the Indy Eleven after the club was announced on April 25, 2013.

  • His experience is not limited to club or high school. In 2008, he served as the second assistant coach and goalkeeper coach at IUPUI. During his one season, the Jags went 13-7 and earned a berth in the league tournament.

  • He earned a bachelor of science degree in sport management from Marian University in 2007. He was a three-year starting goalkeeper for the Knights from 2004-06 and earned NSCAA All-America honorable mention honors. He currently holds the single-season school record for goals-against-average (0.99) and the career record for goals-against-average (1.21). He also led the Knights to their only Mid-Central College Conference Tournament championship in 2005 when he saved four-of-five penalty shots in the semifinals of the tournament against Goshen. MU defeated Bethel for the tourney title that year.
