Kristopher Looney - Head Coach - 1st Season

Kristopher Looney enters his first season as head coach of the men's tennis program. He brings with him a strong tennis background including more than 12 years of experience.
 
Looney comes to Marian University after spending a year with the Indianapolis Racquet Club, where he is a tennis pro and instructor. Looney has also served as the assistant coach for the Brebeuf Jesuit boy's varsity tennis team as well as the assistant coach for the Fishers High School girl's varisty team for more than six years.
 
Looney also is affiliated with many tennis clubs in Indianapolis, is associated with many local top-level high school coaches, and is a Professional Tennis Registry-certified tennis instructor.
 
During his playing career, Looney was a national qualifier for IUPUI in 1995 and was named conference player of the week in 1996. He served as team captain at IUPUI in 1999, his senior season. He is currently an active top-level local singles and doubles player.
 
Looney graduated from IUPUI in 1999 with a bachelor of science degree in social work.
 
He recently got married and currently resides in Indianapolis.

Martin Bruner - Assistant Coach - 1st Season
 
Martin Bruner is entering his first season as an assistant coach at Marian University.
 
Bruner brings more than 15 years of experience to the Marian University program including two seasons with an NCAA Division I program.
 
He played varisty tennis for three seasons at Brebeuf Jesuit in Indianapolis before heading to college at Indiana University-Bloomington. At IU, he was the team manager for the IU women's tennis team from 2001-2003 and worked under coach Lin Loring.
 
Bruner has been the team captain of a summer league program for six years and is currently a math teacher in the Indiana Public School system.
 
He currently resides in Indianapolis.
