Dave Roberts - Head Coach - 26th Season

David Roberts enters his 26th season as the head coach of the men's and women's cross country programs.
 
The 2009 season was special for Roberts as he guided the men's team to its first-ever Mid-Central College Conference championship and senior Kyle Murray won the MCC individual championship to become the sixth individual runner to earn the conference title. He was also named the MCC Coach of the Year for the third time in his career and had the fifth student-athlete in his career earn NAIA All-America honors.
 
During his tenure at Marian University, Roberts has led 26 Knights to individual national qualification and also led the women's program to the 1994 MCC championship. He has also coached 24 Daktronics NAIA Scholar-Athletes, and he has had the women's team named NAIA Scholar Team four times while the men earned the honor on three occasions.
 
A member of the 2006 and 2007 USATF outdoor championships organizing committee, Roberts was instrumental in the production of events in the city of Indianapolis on both the local and national levels. He also served as a coach at the 1996 Indianapolis Peace Games.
 
He resides in Indianapolis with his wife and they have four children.

Shawn Murray - Assistant Coach - 2nd Season
 
Shawn Murray is entering his second season as assistant coach for the Marian University cross country program.
 
Murray, a three-year letter winner at Marian University, graduated with a bachelor of science degree in sport management in 2009. He lettered as a competitor from 2006 through 2008 and was a 2009 NAIA national qualifier in the marathon where he finished 28th.
 
Currently, Murray holds the school record in the marathon with a time of 2:53:27.
 
He resides in Indianapolis.
