"A New Look and a New Attitude" (posted on August 18, 2010)

Well, two-a-days have officially begun, and us guys on the MU men's soccer team have been hard at work since we all arrive on campus Sunday evening. It was very pleasant seeing 28 healthy bodies in our team meeting on Sunday compared to last season's 18 healthy bodies (on a good day!) for each training session. From the looks of the hard work and the effort that all of our new guys as well as our returning players, we are going to come up and surprise some teams that may be underestimating our level of skill. I found out today that the preseason rankings of the MCC came out and we are not even in the top five. I don't know how all of my teammates are feeling about this, but I personally take that as a personal insult, and I will do everything in my power this season to help our team prove to all the doubters that we will be contenders this season!

We have a new head coach this season, Chad Hardin, and he has done everything that he possibly can to bring freshman/transfers in to put us in a position to have competition for each starting spot. With this competition starting to surface, all of us are starting to bring the best out of each other and that is very exciting to see in my eyes. My last two seasons here at MU have not gone the way any competitive athlete would enjoy. With two straight three-win seasons behind me, I am doing nothing but looking forward and I plan on winning double-digit games, and finishing AT LEAST in the top three in conference. I have nothing but confidence in my teammates and myself that the sky is the limit for us, and it's time for us to prove it!

Our first exhibition match is this Saturday, August 21 at 4 p.m. against our alumni team. I hope we can have tons of supporters out there to cheer us on as the 2010 MU men's soccer team shows our former players how to really play some soccer!

Stay tuned later this week for an update on how our MU men's soccer team season is going!
