John and Mary Beth Adams Fitness Center

 
The John and Mary Beth Adams Fitness Center was dedicated on September 24, 2004, and serves as the weight training and cardiovascular training facilities for the Department of Athletics.

Located in the lower wing of the Physical Education Center, the Adams Fitness Center houses numerous free weight benches and free weights that allow our student-athletes to improve their strength and conditioning. More than 10 bench press areas, two leg press machines, numerous Smith machines, and panels for power cleans allow our programs the best in weight training facilities. Provided by Bob Block Fitness, the Knights spend numerous hours in the weight room to contend for conference championships in the NAIA's Mid-Central College Conference and Mid-States Football Association.

The Fitness Center is also open to Marian University students, faculty, and staff during normal operating hours.

Rules and Regulations

  1. Students, faculty and staff MUST have their Marian University ID to enter the workout facilities.
  2. The Fitness Center is for use by members of the Marian University community. All guests must be accompanied by a Marian University host. One guest per host.
  3. No horseplay or offensive language will be tolerated in the Fitness Center.
  4. Proper training attire must be worn; no open-toed footwear or cut-off shirts.
  5. Collars MUST be used for ALL free weight exercises.
  6. We unload plates from ALL machines and barbells after use.
  7. Do not drop weights with the exception of the rubber plates on the lifting platforms. Use a spotter for free weight lifts heavier than a five-rep maximum.
  8. Keep bars and weights off the vinyl benches to prevent tearing.
  9. Tobacco, food, gum, glass bottles, and cans are PROHIBITED.
  10. Keep our Fitness Center clean by removing trash.
  11. Do not move benches or machine components from their original location.
  12. Music is only allowed during team lifting sessions supervised by a coach. Otherwise, use personal music players for entertainment.
