November 18, 2006

The Marian College athletic department and the M-Club have partnered together in honoring our student-athletes for their contributions to Knight athletics. On November 18, 2006 this new tradition took shape with the first of two recognition dinners honoring the fall sports. The first dinner honored the student-athletes who participated in the sports of: men's golf, women's golf, women's tennis, men's tennis, and women's soccer.

Director of Athletics Joe Haklin emceed the proceedings along with M-Club Co-Director John Finke and M-Club Board Members Tom Egold ('65) and Mike Noone ('63). Each of the coaches from their respective sports honored their student-athletes with an M-Club Recognition certificate. The athletes voted on four awards for each sport from Most Valuable Player to the Hustle Award. The four-year student-athletes in each sport were also honored with a plaque listing some of their accomplishments.
