Head coach Todd Bacon is about as versatile as a person can be. In his seventh year at Marian University, he has served in numerous different positions within the Marian University community.

Bacon came to Marian University in 2000 after a stellar coaching career at conference foe Goshen College. During his 10-year stint at Goshen, he served as men's basketball head coach (six years), assistant men's basketball coach (two years), head baseball coach (three years), and assistant baseball coach (seven years).

His tenure at Goshen saw vast improvement in the men's basketball program. In his first season the Maple Leafs went 0-27. However, the next season saw the win total climb to 14. In just his third season, his players set a new school record for wins (19) and earned 53 victories over the next three seasons. Bacon was also at the helm for the Leafs' only two postseason victories. In 1997-98 the Leafs defeated Taylor, while in 1998-99 the Leafs got the better of Marian College. His players or those he recruited still hold records in 13 of 24 single-season and career categories. His record of success in basketball carried over to the spring. His 1998 ballplayers still hold the school record for the highest team batting average (.317).

He left Goshen and came to Marian University in 2000 as an assistant director of admission. After spending three years in that capacity, Bacon was brought into athletics as the head coach for men's and women's tennis and women's basketball.

In his six seasons as women's basketball head coach, Bacon has compiled a record of 101-71 (.587). He guided the women to a No. 11 ranking in the NAIA Top 25 in December 2005, and the team spent nine of 11 weeks in the Top 25 during the 2005-06 season. The No. 11-ranking is the highest garnered by a women's basketball team in the school's history. Last season, the Knights rattled off a school-record 15 straight victories en route to a 19-12 season. The Knights also garnered Bacon his 100th career victory as a head women's basketball coach.

His athletes have a track record of success off the playing field as well. In five seasons at the helm, Bacon has had 13 athletes earn Daktronics All-America Scholar Athlete honors.

As men's tennis head coach, Bacon led the Knights to the back-to-back Mid-Central College Conference championships and three consecutive NAIA Region VIII Tournament appearances. Under his tutelage, the Knights went 50-9 over four seasons and 28-4 against MCC opponents after a 1-9 season in 2003. In the fall of 2007, Bacon led the Knights to a second-place finish in the MCC and yet another regional tournament berth. Bacon's efforts were not lost with the women. His teams earned NAIA Region VIII Tournament berths in four of his five years and two straight appearances after runner-up conference finishes. The women were 40-18 in his four seasons and 22-9 in MCC matches. To say success has followed Coach Bacon would be an understatement.

As men's and women's tennis head coach, Bacon compiled a 51-18 (.739) men's record and 40-18 (.690) women's record. He recently moved to assistant baseball coach during the summer after Marian University hired men's and women's tennis coaches.

Bacon was a two-sport athlete at Earlham College. He was a four-year letter winner in baseball and basketball. He was voted Most Valuable Player in 1988 and 1990 and was an integral part of the 1989 Collegiate Athletic Conference baseball championship team. His basketball career was also highly successful. Bacon held the school record for most three-point field goals in a game, single-season and career, upon his graduation in 1990, when he earned his bachelor of science in movement studies. He was voted Most Valuable Player for men's basketball in 1989 and 1990.

Bacon is married with four children. The family resides in Crawfordsville, Indiana.
