INDIANAPOLIS - The 14-time collegiate cycling national champion and 2011 MidWest Collegiate Cycling Conference and regional champion Marian University cycling team and head coach Dean Peterson are proud to announce the first commitment for the 2011-12 season.
Lisha Herold, who will graduate from North St. Paul High School this spring, signed with the 14-time national champions on Friday afternoon.
Herold, who has been competing on the road for two years, is a versatile athlete that brings experience in cycling, basketball, track and field and cross country to Marian University. She competed in each sport throughout high school and middle school and was also a two-year letter winner in nordic skiing.
She is a Saint Clare Academic Scholarship recipient who has attended classes at Century College during her junior and senior years where she earned Dean's List honors. She is a native of Oakdale, Minn., and competed in the USA Cycling Junior Road Nationals in the summer of 2010.
Herold is the first commitment for the 2011-12 season for head coach Dean Peterson.
