INDIANAPOLIS - Marian University head women's bowling coach Chad Hardin is proud to announce the first commitment for the 2012-13 bowling season.
Amber Thompson, who will graduate from Decatur Central High School this spring, became the first bowler to commit to the third season of Marian University women's bowling.
Thompson is an honor student who earned a fourth-place finish at the state tournament in 2012. She owned the state's highest average in 2011-12 and earned a spot at USBC Junior Golds for the third time. She was a three-time all-state first team pick and earned the title at the Indiana/Kentucky All-Stars.
She is a four-time all-city team selection who also earned a third-place finish in the state tournament as a junior. A two-sport athlete, Thompson also earned all-conference and all-county honors as part of the golf team at Decatur Central.
She plans to major in biology at Marian University and is the first commitment for the 2012-13 season.
