INDIANAPOLIS - Marian University head men's bowling coach Chad Hardin is proud to announce the first commitment to the third season of men's bowling.
Ryan Ventillo, along with two other student-athletes, committed to the Knights for 2012-13.
"This is a great day for Marian University bowling," said Hardin of the commitment of Hattori, Fields and Ventillo. "These three have known each other for a long time and it's exciting to have them be able to compete together. I am excited to be able to work with them throughout their collegiate careers and I'm happy they will be competing in a Marian University uniform."
Ventillo is a graduate of Clarkstown South High School and is a native of New City, N.Y. He completed a transfer from Rockland Community College to compete in bowling at Marian University.
He was the 2011 New York Section 1 individual state champion and was a member of the Section 1 team champions. He was also a member of the New York State All-Star team champions and was the 2011 Rockland Bowler of the Year. He was a four-time all-section pick and was a four-time all-county pick who also competed in national tournaments.
He was a finalist in the Teen Master Nationals where he earned a fourth-place finish in 2011 and was the Long Island Youth Bowler's Tour champion twice. He also earned a top 50 finish at the 2010 USBC Junior Gold championships. He has bowled a high game of 300 and has a high series of 792. His high average is a 236.
Ventillo, along with Zack Hattori and Diante Fields, committed to the Knights on Friday afternoon for the 2012-13 season.
