INDIANAPOLIS - Marian University head men's bowling coach Chad Hardin is proud to announce his fourth commitment for the inaugural season of Marian University bowling.
Sam McLaughlin, a Fort Wayne, Ind. native, is the third male bowler to sign with Marian University, which will begin competition as part of the United States Bowling Congress this fall. McLaughlin will graduate from Elmurst High School before becoming part of the inaugural class of Knights bowling.
"Sam is an accomplished bowler," said Coach Hardin. "He comes from a very competitive high school program and should fit in very well with our program. We are excited to have Sam coming to Marian University."
McLaughlin is a four-year member of the varsity bowling program at Elmhurst High School and has served as the team captain. He was a 300-game sectional champion as an individual and was a member of a team that reached the state finals. He was also a member of a team that reached the semi-state as well. During both his sophomore and junior seasons, McLaughlin was the team's high average bowler.
He is planning on studying cell and molecular biology.
McLaughlin is the fourth commitment to the startup program.
