INDIANAPOLIS - The 14-time collegiate cycling national champion and 2011 MidWest Collegiate Cycling Conference and regional champion Marian University cycling team and head coach Dean Peterson are proud to announce another commitment for the 2011-12 season.
Neal Forbes, who will graduate from Columbus North High School this spring, became the second student-athlete to commit to the reigning collegiate road national champions.
Forbes has spent five years riding in road competitions and has competed internationally. He earned a ninth-place finish at the 2010 USA Cycling Junior Road Nationals in the individual time trial and also earned an 11th-place finish in the 2009 USA Cycling Junior Road Nationals individual time trial.
Additionally, Forbes has competed with composite teams in the Junior Tour of Belize and has also competed in the Tour de l'Abitibi in Val D'or, Quebec, Canada.
He intends to major in exploratory studies with a focus on attending law school after graduation.
Forbes becomes the second commitment for the Knights for 2011-12. Lisha Herold also committed on Friday afternoon at the Marian University Cycling Center.
