Records are a good thing and provide some history for a collegiate program, however, you can throw the records out the window when sheer determination and grit come into play. That was the theme for the 2009 Marian University men's cross country team. Fighting through injuries and getting the student-athletes to push themselves beyond their limits is what head coach Dave Roberts asked of his team in 2009.

VANCOUVER, Wash. - For the first time in school history, the Marian University men's cross country team traveled to the NAIA Men's Cross Country National Championships and earned a 20th-place finish in Vancouver, Wash., on Saturday.
